Fire Safety When Clubbing
Entering a jam-packed club that is full of bodies swaying to the upbeat music on the dance floor, people laughing and talking excitedly at the bar, and an ambiance that is teeming with fun can make you feel excited for the anticipated enjoyment that the night can give you. But, before you throw yourself into the party, make sure that you are entering a place that can keep you safe.
Crowded places, such as clubs, can be prone to fires that might quickly cause panic and confusion. As a club goer, you can protect yourself from being a victim by applying these tips whenever you go out for the night. The first is to check the layout of the establishment when you arrive. Take a few minutes to locate the emergency exits and walk towards them so that you have a feel of where to go in case of a fire. Remember that the power will usually be cut and there might be smoke during fires, so you might not be able to see the escape routes in the dark. Also, take a look around if there are smoke detectors, sprinklers, and fire extinguishers, and make a mental note of where the emergency equipment are located. If there are any candles, heating equipment, or other flammable materials near you that make you feel uncomfortable, you can ask the staff to turn it off, or to at least keep it in a safer place. If you feel uneasy inside the club, you should leave and find a safer place to party. It would be better to be a party pooper than to put your life at risk.
